When was the last time, if ever, that the chimney was checked for leaks?   It is possible that there may be a hole in the chimney along the outside wall of the house which is allowing infiltration of combustion products?

Does the tenant downstairs own and operate a negative ion generator?   See our page on air cleaner technology to find out why this is significant.

Is the house near a busy thoroughfare with lots of traffic and automobile exhaust?
