negative ion mat

I'm thinking to buy a negative ion mat. I've a few questions need your helps : 1) what's the side effect of having too much negative ion ? will it only good for health? 2) the ion mat came with operating range known as '-200v to -600v', does it have any impact on patient with heart problem ? 3) what's the likely price in USA or worldwide ?
