Do Negative Ions cause pollens to cling to walls and floors?

My neighbor mentioned to me that a device he purchased that generates negative ions helps him breath better at night and reduces snoring! I wonder if anyone has had similar experiences. We live in an area that has lots of trees and lots of pine pollen. I would like to find a good product that would help with my wife's allergies. Closing the windows helps, but then the house gets to hot at night.
