XL15 SWITCH SELECTOR

On the back of my XL 15 LIVING AIR is a OZONE SWITH that says...AUTOMATIC/MANUAL. WHen I switch to manual, it makes a rattle sound and I can see a small blue sparkle inside...is this normal?
