T Tackifier: A substance applied to a filter media to increase the retention of dust. It can be applied to the surface of the media or throughout its depth. It may be an oil, a pressure sensitive resin or a solvent which imparts a tacky surface to the media. Total Pressure: Also called impact pressure. The pressure measured in
a moving fluid by an impact tube. It is the sum of the velocity pressure and the
static pressure. As the static pressure (resistance) caused
by the filters increases, the velocity must decrease. Any reduction in
velocity reduces the volume of air moved. |
